MATT BROZOVICH
Artist Statement
As an artist, my work is rooted in the beauty of landscapes and abstract concepts, the intricate details of the natural world, and the powerful emotions that accompany human connection. My journey as an artist is an ongoing exploration of light, form, and texture, where every piece I create tells a story or relates an experience.
I like to focus on the interplay between light and shadow, as these elements bring depth and mood to my work. Light is a transformative force, one that can elevate a scene from the ordinary to the extraordinary, turning a simple mountain or desert into a place of sublime beauty. I aim to capture the fleeting moments where the light changes everything, whether it’s the golden hour at sunset or the soft glow of dawn breaking over a distant horizon.
Texture also plays a significant role in my work, adding a tactile quality that invites the viewer to experience the piece beyond the visual. I want others to feel the ruggedness of a mountain, the softness of a field of grass, or the jagged edges of a rock face.
I also explore themes of human connection and emotion. These pieces are often more abstract, using color, shape, and form to express feelings. For me, art is a way to process the complexity of human experience. These works serve as a reminder that our emotions are ever-changing, evolving, and integral to our existence.
I believe that art has the power to transport us, to take us to places we’ve never been, both physically and emotionally. Through my work, I strive to create immersive experiences that allow the viewer to escape the noise of everyday life and find a moment. Whether it’s through the quiet serenity of a landscape or the bold intensity of an abstract piece, my hope is that my art can provide a space for contemplation and connection.
