Fracture I

Fracture I moves through a splintered dialogue of cold whites, deep grays, and abrupt black lines, evoking the disorienting moment when something within the mind gives way. Sharp divisions cut across the canvas without warning, each break interrupting what came before it, mirroring the way a psychological break doesn’t announce itself so much as suddenly arrive, severing one state of being from the next. The interplay of these fractured planes creates a sense of instability, as if the surface itself can no longer hold together.

Rather than smoothing over the break, Fracture I stays inside it—the jagged edges left visible, the pieces never quite reassembled into a whole. Loose, urgent brushwork traces the path of the fracture itself, letting line and color splinter apart the way clarity does under enough pressure.
